Alison Genest releases statement about stalled town manager search in Dracut

"More than ever, it’s a time for all of us to be cautious, rational and responsible. I would like to see the next town manager hired as soon as it’s possible and practical to do so.

If Chairman Forcier’s intention is still to conduct in-person interviews, they should happen as soon as it’s safe. As a talent management professional, I understand the desire to interview candidates face-to-face, but using video conferencing is the next best thing and would be a reasonable alternative to help restart the stalled process.

The good news is that Dracut is fortunate to have Ann Vandal in charge right now. She has been doing an incredible job of leading the town government through this crisis.

Regardless of whether the new manager is hired before or after the town election, I believe we should listen to the informed opinions of public health experts. Above all, safety should come first. Our community’s health is much more important than politics."
